Vinous
- v90-93
The 2016 Taillefer is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious. Succulent red cherry, plum, mocha and espresso are all pushed forward. A wine with no hard edges, silky tannins and fabulous balance, the 2016 has a lot to recommend it. There is a wonderful sense of immediacy. The 2016 is not the most complex Pomerol readers will come across, but it is delicious and very nicely rendered. Tasted two times.

The medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Taillefer opens with tar and earth over a core of black plums and blackberries with a waft of chargrill. Medium to full-bodied in the mouth, it's firm, chewy and earthy with good length.

87-89. Barrel Sample. Richly concentrated, this wine has a pepper edge that suggests high alcohol and gives it a fat character, with solid tannins lending some structure.
