Deep ruby red in appearance. Rich dark red fruit dominate the nose followed by aromas of black cherries and wood spice. On the palate, finely grained tannins are subtly integrated with delicate oak flavours. Elegant and refined with a savoury finish showcasing that typical cool climate Constantia style.

The 2022 Red Blend Estate has even more Petit Verdot than the 2021 (33% of the blend) but underwent the same barrel maturation. Due to the higher proportion of Petit Verdot, there are more floral scents on the nose here-crushed violet and peony, well defined and pure. The palate is neatly balanced with a little more concentration and florality than the previous vintage. There's impressive depth and a judicious dash of white pepper on the finish. Excellent.
