Antinori San Giovanni Della Sala Orvieto 2025 (750ml)

Orvieto is central Italy's classic white, a blend grown in the hills of Umbria and here bottled from the Classico zone by Castello della Sala. The 2025 is a still, dry white, unoaked in feel and built for freshness, the kind of wine that rewards a shopper looking past the usual Pinot Grigio for something with more character.

Lemon zest and crushed green apple lead the way, with a suggestion of spring flowers lifting out of the glass. There is a gentle inner sweetness to the fruit, plenty of citrus-edged orchard flavor, but it stays balanced by a saline, mineral core and bright, juicy acidity. Long and concentrated yet clean and refreshing, with a faint note of sour melon trailing off at the end.
