Antoine Sunier's 2022 Régnie is a Gamay from the smallest of Beaujolais's ten cru villages, sourced from fifty-year-old vines rooted in granite. The wine spent nine to ten days in contact with its skins, then aged half in used barrels and half in tank, a balance that lets the fruit speak without overwhelming oak influence.
The aromatics will reward patience. On first pour they're still finding their footing, but let the wine sit for ten minutes and depth emerges.
