Basil Haydens Straight Bourbon (1Lt)

Kentucky straight bourbon made with a high rye content, Basil Hayden's comes from the Beam family distillery in Clermont. The mash bill leans toward rye grain rather than the corn-heavy recipes common among many of its peers, which shapes a noticeably spicier character than typical bourbon. The spirit is aged in new charred oak barrels before bottling.

The rye influence shows clearly on the nose and palate, bringing black pepper, clove, and dried fruit notes forward alongside the vanilla and caramel oak would expect from bourbon. It's approachable enough for drinking neat or with ice, but the spice and structure also make it a natural choice for cocktails where you want backbone, particularly rye-forward drinks like Manhattans or Old Fashioneds.
