Description

Bedrock Wine Company's Dolinsek Ranch Heritage is a field blend from Russian River Valley, anchored by Zinfandel vines planted in 1910 and interspersed with Alicante Bouschet, Barbera, Syrah, Black Muscat, and other varieties. The 2023 vintage captures the complexity of this old-vine site in a medium-bodied red that feels both layered and cohesive.

The wine opens with an exotic array of red and black cherry, kirsch, apricot, and blood orange, alongside floral notes of rose petal and wildflower, with mint and spice weaving through. On the palate, flavors are concentrated yet finely detailed, held in check by soft, silky tannins and bracing acidity that builds toward a long, peppery finish. There's a distinctive character here, wild and perfumed, that unfolds generously with air. The 2023 is drinking well now but will age gracefully over the next several years.

The 2023 Dolinsek Ranch Heritage Wine is a wild, exotic wine. Red cherry, kirsch, apricot, mint, blood orange, spice, rose petal and sweet spice all grace this layered, silky Zinfandel-based field blend from vines planted in 1910. The presence of some white grapes adds character. The Dolinsek is such a distinctive wine, one that truly soars in 2023.

The 2023 Zinfandel Dolinsek Ranch Heritage comes from Zinfandel vines interplanted in 1910 with smaller portions of Alicante Bouschet, Barbera, Syrah, Black Muscat and other varieties. From grapes harvested very late on October 13, it has inviting aromas of red and black cherries and berries, wildflowers and spice. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated yet detailed flavors. It’s framed by soft, silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, spicy finish. It opens dramatically with air and will benefit from 3-5 years in the cellar.
