Benton Lane Pinot Noir 2023 (750ml)

This is a ripe and expressive Pinot Noir blended by Amael Orrego, who crafts this wine across more than 80 Pinot Noir blocks. Sois bois and mushroom notes show an earthy immediacy in the aromatics, followed by ripe cherries and a touch of dusty minerality. The palate is sleek, showing freshness and a surprising structure. Ripe, fleshy red berries, savoury herbs, and a fresh forest element of pine bough and raspberry leaf balance the generosity of the fruit with the elegance of the savoury and umami nuances.

Crushed plums and blackberries mix with sweet sage as the 2023 Pinot Noir Loma Single Block Series blossoms in the glass. It sweeps across the palate with ease, lifted and fresh with a saline tinge up front, further enhanced by a core of zesty acidity. Wild berry fruit saturates the finish as the 2023 tapers off long with a pleasantly bitter blackberry twang.

The 2023 Pinot Noir opens with scents of holiday spice, toast and brown sugar over red cherry and forest floor aromas. The medium-bodied palate offers concentrated, earthy flavors. It’s framed by soft, chalky tannins and vibrant acidity and has a long, spicy finish.
