Glera grown in the hills of Valdobbiadene, the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco zone in the Veneto, gives this sparkling wine from Bisol Desiderio & Figli its character. The Jeio bottling is a non-vintage Brut, light on its feet and built for the kind of frothy, orchard-fruit lift that defines northern Italian sparkling wine.
Ginger shavings and lime zest open over crushed green apple, and the wine carries a zesty tension through the palate. Juicy acidity and a mineral thread cut against the ripe orchard fruit, keeping things fresh rather than soft. The finish runs surprisingly long for the style, leaving a trace of chamomile and spice behind.
