Moscatel is a grape most people associate with sweetness, which makes a bone-dry version a small revelation. This one comes from Botani in Andalucia, drawn from a single parcel in Navarrate that was planted back in 1924. The 2023 vintage is a dry white that keeps all the grape's aromatic generosity while letting acidity, not sugar, carry the finish.
The perfume arrives first, exotic and floral, with a lift of mint and a honeyed lemon note that sets the tone. On the palate it turns clean and crisp, medium-bodied, with bright acidity that stays woven into the wine rather than sticking out. Balance is the word that fits best here, and the length is genuinely impressive.
The 2023 Botani Nobleza comes from a single parcel in Navarrate planted in 1924. It has an exotic, floral, minty, and honeyed lemon-driven perfume that gives way to a more medium-bodied, clean, crisp, dry white with bright yet integrated acidity, terrific balance, and outstanding length.
