White wine from the northern Rhône appellation of Saint-Joseph, this is a blend of Roussanne (70%) and Marsanne (30%) from Graeme and Julie Bott. The 2022 was vinified and aged for nine months in barrel without bâtonnage, a hands-off approach that keeps the focus on freshness rather than weight.
Expect a fresh, crisp expression built around honeyed melon and white peach, with minty herbs, spring flowers, and a whisper of almond and spice filling out the bouquet. It's medium to full-bodied, seamless and gently enrobing, with a fleshy core of fruit held in line by bright acidity. The finish carries a subtle salinity and real length, and while it drinks well now, a little more time in the bottle lets it open further.

The 2022 Saint Joseph Blanc is terrific, with a fresher, crisp, vibrant style in its honeyed melon and white peach-driven fruits as well as minty herbs and subtle minerality. It's balanced, medium-bodied, has remarkable purity, and a great finish. (Jeb Dunnuck, March 2024)
A blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Marsanne, the 2022 Saint-Joseph Blanc from Graeme and Julie Bott reveals a fresh, elegant bouquet of almonds, spring flowers and spices mingled with delicate notes of white peach. Medium to full-bodied, enrobing and seamless, it's elegant with a fleshy core of fruit and bright acids, concluding with a long, saline finish. Vinified and aged for nine months in barrels without bâtonnage, this release is a true success, benefiting from some additional bottle aging to blossom. (Wine Advocate, March 2025)
