Made in Jalisco, Mexico, this blanco tequila comes from Tequila Cascahuin, a producer working in the traditional style suggested by its name. The tahona reference points to the old stone wheel method of crushing cooked agave, a slower and more labor-intensive way of extracting juice than modern mills. As a blanco, it goes into the bottle without barrel aging, letting the character of the agave itself lead.
Unaged tequila tends to show the cooked agave up front, with the bright, earthy, and sometimes peppery notes that define the category before wood gets involved. Tahona-crushed spirits often carry an extra layer of mineral and vegetal texture from that stone-pressed process. Pour it neat or over a single cube to follow how it develops, or build it into a margarita where the agave stays present rather than hidden behind sweetness.
