Gigondas sits in the southern Rhône, where Grenache leads the blend and the surrounding scrubland lends its wines a wild, herbal edge. This Tradition bottling from Domaine Brusset is built on 70% Grenache, with Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Syrah filling out the balance in equal measure. The 2024 was raised partly in vats and partly in older demi-muids, an approach that keeps oak in the background and lets the fruit and place come forward.
Expect ripe red and blue fruits, raspberry among them, with peppery garrigue, spice, and a floral lift of violets. The palate is medium-bodied and graceful, pure and balanced, carried by tannins that give it structure and a long, satisfying close. It drinks well now and has the framework to hold and develop over the coming decade.

The 2024 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail reveals beautiful purity in its ripe red and blue fruits as well as peppery garrigue, spice, and liquid violet notes. Based on 70% Grenache and 10% each Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, it was aged 60% in vats and 40% in two- to four-year-old demi-muids. It's medium-bodied, very pretty, pure, balanced, and graceful on the palate, with outstanding length. Drink this classic, satisfying, complex Gigondas over the coming decade. Drink 2026-2035. (Jeb Dunnuck, January 2026)
Mixing 70% Grenache with the remainder equally divided between Cinsault, Mourvèdre and Syrah, the 2024 Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail offers up just-ripe black fruits, ripe raspberry and hints of violets. Built around chalky tannins that take away some of its elegance, the full-bodied 2024 ends with medium length on the structured finish. (Vinous, November 2025)
