Alsace stands apart among French regions for bottling its Riesling dry and varietally pure, and this Les Princes Abbées from Domaines Schlumberger is squarely in that tradition. It is a still white, fully fermented to bone-dryness, from the 2022 vintage. The Les Princes Abbées line is the house's introduction to its range, made to show the grape in a clear, unadorned way.
The nose is fresh and gently perfumed, lemon zest lifted by a faintly green, mossy note. The palate follows through dry and bright, light on its feet but linear, with a citrus thread that runs straight to a mouth-watering, persistent finish. A wine built on tension and clarity rather than weight.
A subtle perfume of lemon and moss gives an enticing, fresh nose to the 2021 Riesling Les Princes Abbées. The palate is dry, fresh, sunny, lemony and light but linear with a mouth-watering and lasting finish. (Bone-dry)
