Napa Valley Cabernet built for the table rather than the cellar, this is the 2023 release from Faust, a Cabernet-led blend rounded out with Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. It leans on the varietal's structure without pushing for weight or extraction, and it sees time in French oak, a portion of it new, which frames the fruit without swallowing it.
Expect aromatics of dried herbs, pencil shavings, and a lift of flowers over black cherry and cassis. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, front-loaded and easy to like, with spiced red fruit and a whisper of baking spice carrying through ripe, well-integrated tannins to a clean finish. There is enough texture here to stand up to a steak, but it drinks well on its own and is ready to enjoy now.

Faust's 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon features attractive aromas of dried herbs, pencil shavings, black cherries and cassis. It's medium to full-bodied and rather easy-drinking, not overly concentrated or rich but with enough texture to make it a steakhouse staple.
Spiced (mostly red) fruits, flowers, and baking spice notes define the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon, a medium-bodied, very soft, supple, and front end-loaded effort with a nicely balanced, charming mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a good finish. Based on 86% Cabernet Sauvignon complemented with Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, it was aged 20 months in French oak, 25% new. It's upfront and ready to go. Drink 2025-2030.
