Forman Vineyard's 2016 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon presents the varietal's signature structure and weight, built on the foundation of ripe Cabernet fruit and tannic architecture characteristic of the region.
The wine shows a brooding, dark character with considerable depth. There's a density to it that suggests the wine was still settling when tasted, and the underlying promise points to a Cabernet that will continue to develop in the bottle. It's structured and serious, the kind of wine that rewards patience and benefits from decanting when opened.

Forman's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon offers notable, depth and structure. Today, the 2016 comes across as quite dark and brooding, but it was also racked about three weeks before this tasting, so that might partly explain the wine's showing today. Even so, the 2016 looks promising. (Vinous, January 2018)
