Goldeneye's 2022 Pinot Noir comes from three estate vineyard sites in Anderson Valley, California, where cool coastal conditions shape the character of the fruit. The wine spent 16 months aging in French oak, about half of it new, which adds structure without overwhelming the varietal's natural delicacy.
This is a pretty wine built on classic Pinot architecture. Red tea, cherry, and cinnamon aromas lead into a silky palate of red cherries and strawberries with a whisper of rhubarb. There's ripeness here, too, hints of cola and sasparilla add spice, and the wine carries enough concentration to show tart blood orange and smoky leather on the finish, anchored by a coastal saline minerality. Light tannins and a full body make it approachable now, though the wine has enough substance to age gracefully.

The 2022 ‘Anderson Valley’ Pinot Noir comes from a range of sites throughout the valley. Tart red fruits mingle well with salty soils, alongside dried herbs on the palate. Densely packed, with bright underlying acidity, this is an amazing wine in a difficult vintage. (Owen Bargreen)
A pretty wine with classic flavors and an elegant texture. Aromas of red tea, cherries, black tea and cinnamon lead to a silky palate of red cherries, strawberries and a touch of rhubarb. Light tannins, a full body and subtle oak nuances, even though more than 40% of the French barrels the wine aged in were new. Drink now.
This Pinot Noir is from three of Goldeneye's estate Anderson Valley sites: Confluence, Gowan Creek, and The Narrows. It spent 16 months in just about 50% new French oak. This Pinot shows ripeness and spice, with aromas of sasparilla and cola spicing up the rich red and black berries. The palate offers tart notes of blood orange and smoky hints of leather and spice, with a coastal saline minerality to the finish. It remains concentrated and rich throughout.
