Description

Ink Grade's 2018 Andosol is an entry point to the producer's line, a blend of Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley that draws on the old tradition of combining fruit from mountain vineyards. The wine is medium to full-bodied, aged largely in tank and foudre to preserve its freshness.

The nose opens with cherry, cassis, and pine, leading into a palate layered with red, black, and blue fruits alongside mineral complexity and floral notes of violet. The tannins are silky and well-integrated, supporting a finish marked by crushed stone and cocoa powder minerality. Bright acidity and mouthwatering length carry through to the end, making this a wine that rewards both immediate enjoyment and careful attention.

This is the entry-level wine to the brand, the lightest wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. It’s a homage to the old tradition of blending old mountain sites. Dark berry fruit, pine forest notes, and violets. A plethora of red, black, and blue fruits with sappy tannins integrated with beautiful complexity of flavours and nuanced mineral notes. Leads to a pulverised crushed stone and cocoa powder finish.

Cherry, cassis and pine notes mark the nose of the 2018 Andosol, a blend of 80% Zinfandel and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Matured largely in tank and foudre, it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, framed by silky tannins, then finishes long and bright, with plenty of red fruit and mouthwatering acids.
