JJ Vincent Pouilly Fuisse Marie Antoinet 2023 (750ml)

Chardonnay grown in the far south of Burgundy takes on a rounder, sunnier profile than its counterparts further north, and Pouilly-Fuissé is where that generosity shows most clearly. This bottling from Château de Fuissé, drawn from purchased fruit alongside young vines the Vincent family farms itself, is a still white from the 2023 vintage. It sits in the more open, welcoming register of white Burgundy, made to reward without demanding patience.

There is a certain plushness on the nose here, an almost fleshy character that arrives before the wine even reaches the palate. Medium-bodied and creamy at the outset, it carries real weight through the middle and turns slightly honeyed toward the close. This is less about steely mineral tension than about texture and clean fruit, though a subtle menthol lift keeps the finish fresh and lingering.
