Description

Laurent-Perrier's Champagne Brut Cuvée Rosé is a non-vintage blend built on ripe Pinot Noir from recent harvests, made by maceration on skins, the traditional method for achieving its salmon hue and deeper flavor profile. The wine spends at least five years on its lees before release, which adds textural depth to what could otherwise be a lighter style.

The wine opens with red plum, macerated strawberry, and cherry, moving into darker stone fruit and citrus notes with a hint of spice. What distinguishes this rosé is its restraint: the palate is delicate and refreshing rather than heavy-handed, with a polished, gently creamy texture that belies the richness of its fruit core. There's genuine liveliness here, driven by ripe acidity that keeps the wine feeling vibrant and alive. The result is a model non-vintage rosé, capable of standing alongside food, red meat, seafood, or rich poultry, as easily as it does on its own.

Cuvée Rosé is in fine, rich form, helped by some outstanding harvests for ripe Pinot Noir, including 2019 and 2018 which form the backbone of the releases on the market during 2025. It's immediately effusive with red plum, macerated strawberry and cherry flavours, always pure and fresh without becoming too heavily fruity. The 2019-based blend hitting shelves toward the end of 2025 is a little juicier and rounded, while the 2018-based example is more citric and restrained. The palate is surprisingly delicate, tapered and refreshing for a maceration style, polished and gently creamy through its five years (at least) on lees. A model non-vintage rosé. Wine Advocate

Based on the 2019 vintage and disgorged in November 2024 with a dosage of eight grams per liter, the latest release of Laurent-Perrier’s NV Brut Cuvée Rosé is showing nicely, opening with aromas evocative of pomegranate, dark cherry, blood orange and bergamot, with a with hint of Sichuan pepper. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, vinous and expansive, with a youthful, frothy mousse and a richly concentrated core of fruit, underpinned by ripe yet vibrant acidity. The wine concludes with a long, perfumed finish. This is a versatile Champagne that pairs seamlessly with a range of dishes, from red meats to tuna. (Wine Advocate, October 2025)
