Lubanzi Organic Shiraz 2024 is a South African red from Paarl, in the Western Cape, made entirely from Syrah. This is the producer's first fully organic release following their 2023 certification. It's presented here in a convenient 355ml can, ideal for a single glass or two.
The wine shows restrained red and blue fruit rather than the dark, dense character you might expect from warm-climate Syrah. Partial whole-bunch fermentation and four weeks on skins before pressing to stainless steel build texture without oak interference, leaving the wine with good clarity and aromatic lift. The warm Paarl climate and granite soils give it a supple, approachable frame with soft tannins, while afternoon Cape winds moderate the heat and add composure to the finish. This is a wine built for drinking now, generous but clean, neither heavy nor austere.

The Lubanzi 2024 Organic Red is 100% Syrah sourced from a single vineyard in Paarl, marking its first fully organic release after the estate’s 2023 certification. Formerly known as the estate's "Red Bland" (made with 85% Syrah, Grenache Noir and Mourvèdre), the wine evolved once the vineyard achieved organic status. Fermented with partial whole-bunch fruit and left on the skins for four weeks before pressing to stainless steel, it sees no oak, preserving clarity and lift. The warm Paarl climate gives supple texture and soft tannins, yet the fruit profile leans more toward restrained red and blue fruits rather than dense black fruit. Paarl’s granite soils and hot inland conditions moderated by afternoon Cape winds shape an easy-drinking Syrah that is generous yet nicely composed on the finish.
