Nero d'Avola is Sicily's most widely planted red grape, and in the hands of Marabino it takes a fresher, more finessed turn than the sun-soaked richness the variety often delivers. This is the 2023 Terre Calcaree, bottled under the Terre Siciliane designation, a wine built more around tension and lift than sheer weight.

Cherry and rose lead the way, opening into licorice and spice as the wine sits in the glass. On the palate it moves quickly, tart red berries carried along by a mineral edge, with lavender and a flash of blood orange lingering on the finish. Crisp and taut, it closes long, with concentrated raspberry fruit holding the line.
