Description

Marion's 2018 Teroldego comes from Veneto in northeastern Italy, where this native red varietal thrives. Teroldego is known for its mineral precision and ability to balance ripe fruit against bright acidity, and this wine exemplifies that promise.

The aromatics lean herbal and earthy, woodsy blackberry, sage, rosemary, and hints of white pepper emerge as it opens. In the mouth, it delivers seamlessly silky ripe red and blue fruit held together by a saline core of stimulating acidity. Sour citrus and clove notes appear on the finish, which stretches long with only the gentlest grip of tannin. This is a wine that rewards a good decant now but will also age gracefully over the next five to eight years.

Woodsy blackberry, balsamic spice, sage, rosemary and hints of white pepper can all be found as the 2018 Teroldego comes to life in the glass. This is pure class, seamlessly silky with potently ripe red and blue fruit carried across a saline core of stimulating acidity. Sour citrus and clove nuances embellish the finale as the 2018 finishes with remarkable length yet spry, leaving only the slightest touch of grippy tannins to seal the deal. Stefano Campedelli captured a little bit of magic in this vintage. Drink now with a good decant or cellar for another five to eight years.
