Marolo - Grappa di Barolo 12 Year (750ml)

Grappa di Barolo from the Marolo distillery in Piedmont is made from the pomace (skins, seeds, and stems) left behind after Barolo wine production. The spirit is aged for 12 years, which is substantial for grappa and gives it considerable depth and integration. This is serious pomace brandy, not the rough or fiery expression you might encounter elsewhere.

Expect a grappa with rounded tannins and the kind of maturity that comes from extended barrel aging. The spirit will carry vinous character from the noble Nebbiolo grape, softened by time in wood, with a warming finish. This is best enjoyed neat in a small glass, either as a digestif after dinner or simply to appreciate the craft and patience that went into its making.
