Merry Edwards' 2023 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is the winery's foundational wine, drawing fruit from estate vineyards and established growers across the valley's Laguna Ridge and Sebastopol Hills. The grapes are de-stemmed and cold-soaked for five days before nine months in French oak (37% new) rounds out the structure.
The wine unfolds with cranberry and rhubarb aromatics, Earl Grey tea, forest floor, and dried herbs. On the palate, it's full-bodied and concentrated, with autumnal flavors that carry a layer of Indian spice and crushed-stone minerality. Fine-grained tannins and bright acidity provide frame and movement, while a saline mineral edge lingers through a long finish. There's real balance here: vibrant red-fruit energy held in check by finesse and complexity, ready to enjoy now but built to age gracefully.

Grapes are de-stemmed and cold-soaked for five days, then aged for nine months in 37% new French oak. This is the flagship wine of the estate, and the first wine Merry Edwards ever produced. Roughly 60% of the fruit is estate-grown, with the balance sourced from growers, predominantly from the Laguna Ridge and Sebastopol Hills. The wine is incredibly delicious, showing a vibrant red-fruited character layered with Indian spice nuances and ultra-fine, powdery tannins. A long line of crushed stone minerality runs through the palate, finishing with a distinctly saline mineral edge. Bright, expressive, and complex, it captures both energy and finesse in equal measure.

The full-bodied palate offers concentrated, autumnal flavors. It’s structured by fine-grained tannins and mouthwatering acidity and has a long, layered finish. 6,640 cases were made.
