Merry Edwards' 2022 Sauvignon Blanc comes from Russian River Valley, where the cool maritime climate favors bright, mineral-driven expressions of the varietal. The wine is whole-cluster pressed and barrel fermented, then aged sur lie in French oak for five months, a technique that adds richness and texture to what might otherwise be a lean white.
The nose opens with white peach, lemongrass, and orange blossoms, with a hint of vanilla underneath. On the palate, the wine shows supple stone fruit (citrus, pear, yellow apple) backed by a mineral spine that recalls chalky crushed stones. The acidity is racy and bright, cutting through the wine's medium-to-full body and resolving into fresh floral and honeysuckle notes on the finish. This is a Sauvignon Blanc with weight and dimension, best enjoyed now while its fruit and floral character are at their peak.

Super expressive nose of white peach lemongrass, orange blossoms and vanillin. Terrifically rich from lees ageing, with supple fruit redolent of citrus, pear, and yellow apple. Intensely mineral-driven on the medium to full-bodied finish, with chalky crushed stones framed by racy acidity, which resolves through fresh floral and honeysuckle notes. Quite delicious. Whole-cluster pressed, barrel fermented and aged sur lie in 19% new French oak for five months.
The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc has gregarious aromas of white peach, kiwi and citrus blossoms. The light-bodied palate is bursting with tropical fruit. It has a soft, rounded texture, mouthwatering acidity and a long, flavorful finish.
