Made entirely from Garnacha and produced by the traditional method, this is a rosé Cava from Muga, a small-scale bottling that runs to only about 25,000 bottles a year. The 2022 sits in the dry, brut register, with the secondary fermentation happening in the bottle as it does across the Cava region. Garnacha gives it a pale, red-fruited character while the mousse keeps everything light on its feet.
The fruit reads as fresh strawberry and blood orange, edged with rose petal and a suggestion of grated apple. There is a subtle savory note underneath, something like yogurt and light pastry, that adds interest without weighing things down. Crisp and lush at once, it carries a fine chalky texture and stays refreshing right through the finish, which lingers longer than its light body might suggest. A polished, easygoing sparkler that drinks well now and will hold for years.
The 2022 Conde De Haro Brut Rose is a fancy Metodo Tradicional sparkling wine of 100% Garnache that produces only about 25,000 bottles a year. Dry in crisp yet lush layers of strawberry, rose petal, and blood orange, it’s a light-bodied, enduringly refreshing wine of tremendous sophistication from vineyards known for their minerality and aromatic beauty. Drink now through 2040. (Jeb Dunnuck, July 2025)
Made from Garnacha as a Blanc de Noirs, the 2022 Brut Rosé Cava Conde de Haro opens with red fruit aromas, hints of yogurt, delicately grated apple and light pastry notes. Dry and fresh on the palate, it shows a chalky nuance and good flavor persistence. A pleasing sparkling wine. (Vinous, April 2026)
