Pale to the point of near-transparency, this is a rosé built for detail rather than color, made entirely from Garnacha grown on old vines in the Alto Najerilla and Oja valleys of Rioja. The fruit comes from parcels that ripen while holding a light red hue, better suited to a wine like this than to red bottlings. Muga works plot by plot, fermenting in small oak vats (a portion in 500-liter barrels) and leaving the wine on its fine lees with regular stirring for about four months before the final blend. At 13.5% alcohol, it keeps its freshness front and center.
For something so light in the glass, there is real concentration here, delicate red berries, cherry and sour cherry, a whisper of grenadine, and a lift of herbs. The palate carries more flesh and texture than the pale shade suggests, threaded with a stony, mineral edge and a faintly tart energy that builds through the middle. Seamless and refined, it finishes clean and moreish, the kind of wine that reads as a clear expression of its place. Bottled young, it will only knit together further with a little time.

Very pale in colour yet surprisingly concentrated for a wine of such light hue, delivering lots of delicate red berries and an ample palate with plenty of fleshy fruit and texture. The 100% Garnacha fruit is sourced from 70- to 90-year-old vines on several plots at 600m-750m. Only half of the free-run must is used, fermented plot by plot in small oak vats, with the wine remaining on its lees for at least four months before a final selection and blend is made. Wonderfully elegant with stony minerality, this is seamless, fruity and refined, with a very moreish finish. A really clear definition of the region. (Decanter, April 2026)
The top rosé is also extremely young. The 2025 Flor de Muga Rosado was produced with the direct pressing of Garnacha grapes from the Najerilla and Oja valleys, grapes that usually ripen but keep a pale red color and are not suitable for red wines. It fermented in small oak vats, where it was kept with fine lees and bâtonnage for four months. This is even paler and certainly subtler, more elegant and complex than the regular rosé. It comes in at a lower 13.5% alcohol, keeping very good freshness, reflected by a pH of 3.27 and 6.2 grams of acidity. It's balanced and subtle, really elegant and more delicate, with more freshness. 36,000 bottles produced. They bottled it very early, in February 2026, because the wine was ready. (Wine Advocate, March 2026)
From Garnacha grown in Alto Najerilla, the 2025 Rosado Flor de Muga was aged on the lees, with about one-third fermented in 500-liter barrels. On the nose, cherry and sour cherry lead, joined by a touch of grenadine and delicate herbal tones. The palate is moderately rich, with a faintly malic edge and growing energy through the midsection. Recently bottled, it should come together more harmoniously in the near term. (Vinous, April 2026)
