Coastal single malt from the Scottish Highlands, Oban has been made since 1794 at a distillery situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe. This 14 year expression draws character from its maritime location and the particular way the spirit interacts with ex-bourbon casks over more than a decade.
Expect a palate marked by salt spray, heather, and stone fruit, the kind of restrained, briny complexity that defines Highland coastal whisky. It's dry enough to work neat or with just a touch of water, and structured enough that it holds up well in a relaxed evening dram or alongside simply prepared seafood.
