Dolcetto is Piedmont's everyday red, less austere than the region's Nebbiolo bottlings and built for the table rather than the cellar. This one comes from Dogliani, the zone that treats Dolcetto as its main event, where Azienda Agricola Fratelli Pecchenino works the grape into a dry, still red under the San Luigi name.
Expect the grape's usual signature: deep purple color, dark berry fruit, and the faintly bitter almond finish that gives Dolcetto its name and its grip. Soft enough to pour young and versatile at the dinner table.
