Made in El Fuerte, Sinaloa using traditional methods, this mezcal from Pelotón De La Muerte draws from agave angustifolia (maguey espadín), the most widely cultivated agave species in Mexico. The producer works in the artesanal tradition, meaning small-batch production with hands-on craftsmanship at every stage, from roasting the agave hearts in a pit oven to distillation in copper stills.

You'll find the characteristic minerality and smoke that pit-roasting brings, layered with herbal and vegetal notes typical of espadín agave. Because this is a joven (unaged) mezcal, those fresh, bright qualities come through directly without the softening influence of barrel time.
