Pommard sits in the Côte de Beaune and makes some of Burgundy's sturdiest reds, and Les Grands Epenots is one of its premier cru climats, worked here by Pierre Meurgey in the 2020 vintage. As with red Burgundy generally, the grape is Pinot Noir, a variety prized for its perfume and its ability to translate the character of a specific site rather than shout with power.
