Nebbiolo grown in Barbaresco, the Piedmontese zone often described as the more approachable, perfumed counterpart to neighboring Barolo, comes here from Pio Cesare in the 2021 vintage. This is a traditional still red, made from a grape known for its pale color, firm structure, and aromatic reach.
Expect a ruby-tinged pour and a bouquet that lifts with cassis, pomegranate, licorice, and a note of grilled herb. The texture is the draw: slender and silky rather than heavy, with the fine-grained frame Nebbiolo lends. It carries itself with poise and drinks nicely on the younger side.
