Description

Resonance Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir 2018 comes from Oregon's Willamette Valley, a region where Pinot Noir finds its American home in cool-climate conditions that favor delicacy and freshness. This wine draws from both estate fruit and partner growers, unified through a methodical approach that favors earlier picking to preserve brightness and finesse.

The wine presents as a saturated garnet, its deeply perfumed nose layering blackberry and cherry with dark chocolate, baking spices, and floral intensity undercut by a whisper of smoke. On the palate it shows gently chewy concentration, with flavors of bitter cherry, black raspberry, and licorice that gain liveliness as the wine opens. The finish is long and smoky, with firm but youthful tannins, pungent florality, and lingering dark fruit that persists. Brightness and spice emerge as it breathes, making this a wine that rewards a little patience in the glass.

Decanter

Delightful, with bright, lively fresh red fruit and floral aromas produced from the long, slow fermentation of the destemmed fruit (half organic estate grapes and half sourced from partner growers). The first project for Maison Louis Jadot outside Burgundy, the philosophy of preferring to pick a bit earlier than a bit too late results in a reassuringly classic style.

Saturated garnet. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes blackberry, cherry cola, dark chocolate, baking spices and pungent flowers, along with a hint of smoked meat. Gently chewy and well-concentrated, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry and licorice flavors that turn livelier as the wine opens up. Finishes long and smoky, with resonating florality, youthfully firming tannins and lingering cherry and dark berry notes.

Wine Advocate

The 2018 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley features scents of blackberries, burnt orange peel, charcuterie and dried flowers. The medium-bodied palate is soft and fresh with surprisingly open, spicy fruit, and it has a long, layered finish.
