Fiano is Campania's answer to a white with real texture and staying power, and this bottling comes from San Salvatore in the hills of Cilento, in the country's south. Labeled under the Paestum IGP, the 2024 Pian di Stio is a dry, single-varietal wine that leans on the grape's natural aromatics and mineral cut rather than on oak or weight.
The nose opens floral, with honeysuckle and jasmine giving way to orchard fruit: apple, pear, a touch of melon. There is a mineral thread running underneath, and a pinch of white pepper that adds lift. It closes long and zesty, the kind of finish that keeps the wine feeling fresh from first sip to last.
A floral, mineral Fiano from the hills of Cilento, full of apple, pear and melon fruits along with some honeysuckle and jasmine, a pinch of white pepper, then a long, zesty finish. (Decanter, April 2026)
