Brunello di Montalcino draws all its power from a single grape, Sangiovese, grown in the hills south of Siena and given long aging before release. This 2020 comes from Sassetti Livio Pertimali, and it shows the structured, savory side of Tuscan Sangiovese that rewards patience in the glass and in the cellar.
Black cherries and plums arrive with a balsamic edge, threaded through with minty herbs and a whiff of forest floor.
