Single-vineyard Tempranillo grown at San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the Rioja Alta, this is the 2023 vintage of Sierra Cantabria's El Bosque bottling. It is 100% Tempranillo, aged eighteen months in new French oak of the Bordeaux style, a treatment that frames the fruit without burying it.
The nose leans on plum and ripe cherry, with a streak of sour cherry for tension, then opens into forest floor, tea leaves, and the quiet spice of time in barrel. It drinks dry and polished, with an energetic flow across the palate and tannins that have already resolved into something fine and supple. The texture is sleek, and the finish carries a faint note of bitter orange that lifts everything at the close.
