Description

From a two-acre block within Napa Valley, this single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is Snowden Vineyards' most substantial expression, made from a designated parcel and aged eighteen months in French oak, about thirty percent of it new. The 2022 vintage yielded a wine of real completeness here, the deepest and most layered of the estate's Cabernets that year.

Aromas arrive perfumed and lifted, wild blackberry and violet edged with olive and a whisper of menthol. On the palate it is full-bodied but never heavy, carrying dark cherry, mulberry and cedar alongside notes of mocha, sarsaparilla and sweet spice, with faint tea-like nuances underneath. The tannins are fine-grained and silky, the acidity bright enough to keep everything fresh and juicy through a well-framed finish. Balanced and giving, it drinks well now and has the structure to reward some patience.

Vinous

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard is the deepest and most complete of the three Cabernets at Snowden in 2022. Dark cherry fruit, leather, mocha, cedar and sweet spice all build in the glass, filling out the layers effortlessly. Here, too, the balance is commendable, especially considering what was possible in 2022. (Vinous, November 2025)

Perfumed and lifted aromas of wild blackberries, olive tapenade and violets. The palate is full-bodied with silky smooth tannins and bright acidity, showing notes of mulberries, sarsaparilla and spices. Nicely balanced and giving. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)

Wine Advocate

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard, Snowden's version of a big Cab, is from a special two-acre block of the vineyard and was aged 18 months in 30% new French oak. Despite the menthol and cedar notes, some delicate tea-like nuances still come through, alongside mixed red and black cherries. It's full-bodied, moderately concentrated, juicy and fresh, with some fine-grained tannins framing the finish. (Wine Advocate, February 2025)
