From a small two-acre block of Snowden Vineyards' Brothers Vineyard, this is a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon built on the fuller, more structured end of the estate's range. The 2022 spent 18 months in French oak, about 30% of it new, a restrained hand that lets the fruit lead rather than the barrel. Napa Cabernet at this level tends to balance ripeness against structure, and that is the tension this wine works with.
Aromas arrive lifted and perfumed, wild blackberry and violet edged with olive and a whisper of tea and menthol. The palate is full-bodied but never heavy, carrying dark and red cherry, mulberry, mocha, cedar and sweet spice that unfold in layers as the wine opens. Fine-grained tannins frame a finish kept fresh and juicy by bright acidity. The balance here is the point: generous without going slack, deep without losing its lift. Enjoy it now or give it time.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard is the deepest and most complete of the three Cabernets at Snowden in 2022. Dark cherry fruit, leather, mocha, cedar and sweet spice all build in the glass, filling out the layers effortlessly. Here, too, the balance is commendable, especially considering what was possible in 2022. (Vinous, November 2025)
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Brothers Vineyard, Snowden's version of a big Cab, is from a special two-acre block of the vineyard and was aged 18 months in 30% new French oak. Despite the menthol and cedar notes, some delicate tea-like nuances still come through, alongside mixed red and black cherries. It's full-bodied, moderately concentrated, juicy and fresh, with some fine-grained tannins framing the finish. (Wine Advocate, February 2025)
Perfumed and lifted aromas of wild blackberries, olive tapenade and violets. The palate is full-bodied with silky smooth tannins and bright acidity, showing notes of mulberries, sarsaparilla and spices. Nicely balanced and giving. Drink or hold. (James Suckling)
