Sourced from the Durell Vineyard in the Sonoma Coast, this is a cool-climate California Chardonnay in a restrained register, bottled under the Three Sticks label. The 2023 vintage leans toward understatement rather than opulence, a medium-bodied wine built more on precision than power.
Look for apricot, salted lemon, and fresh pear, lifted by white flowers and a faint dusting of baking spice. There's a saline, wet-stone quality running underneath, and the texture stays light and clean, finishing with a chalky grip. It carries good length for its weight, savory and quietly persistent, and drinks well now with room to hold over the next several years.

The 2023 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard caresses the palate with apricot, lemon confit, white flowers and brisk saline overtones. Delicate and medium in body, with lovely persistence, the Durell Chardonnay is quite attractive. This is an especially understated Chardonnay from Durell. (Vinous, January 2026)
The bright straw/silver-hued 2023 Chardonnay Durell Vineyard is a refreshing Chardonnay with elegant notes of wet stones, salted lemon, fresh pear, and delicate baking spices. It floats on the palate with a medium-bodied frame, a delicate feel, and a clean and chalky texture on the finish. It’s a very pretty wine with a nice savory flourish to drink now or over the next 4-6 years. (Jeb Dunnuck, July 2025)
