Montepulciano is Abruzzo's dark-fruited red grape, and here it comes from Tiberio in a single bottling called Colle Vota. This 2022 sits within the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo appellation, a style built on depth and structure rather than easy fruit, and it is very much made to reward some cellaring rather than rushing to the table young.
The nose leans earthy and darkly appealing, opening with crushed stone and a smoky whiff of grilled herbs before turning toward blackberry and ground clove.
