Bordeaux grapes have long found a home in the hills of Tuscany, and this Toscana Rosso IGT from Tolaini leans into that tradition with a blend of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. The 2022 was fermented and aged in French oak for twenty months, a long stretch that shapes the wine's texture without smothering the fruit. It sits in the modern Tuscan idiom, structured and polished, with the varietal character of both Cabernets left legible rather than blurred.
Bright and expressive from the first pour, it carries real fruit purity, a core of dark-fleshed berry lifted by floral and savory notes that the two Cabernets each contribute. Expect cassis, grilled rosemary, crushed stone and toasted spice, framed by a soft, rich texture that carries through a long finish. There is some extraction here, but the overall impression is generous rather than heavy.
