Nebbiolo grown in Piedmont's Barolo zone gives some of Italy's most structured reds, and this bottling from Vite Colte draws its fruit across the appellation into a single blend. The 2022 spends around two years in large oak casks, then further time resting in bottle before release, a traditional approach that softens Nebbiolo's famously firm frame while preserving its perfume.
The nose leads with cherry, lifted by floral notes and a balsamic edge. On the palate it's ripe and generous, carried by fine-grained tannins and bright acidity that keeps everything fresh. The pure red fruit is there if you look for it, though at this stage the structure still runs ahead of it. A young wine that rewards patience, this will show more once it settles into itself.
