Zind-Humbrecht's 2023 Zind is a white blend from Alsace built on Auxerrois, a varietal that doesn't always command attention but deserves it. The grapes are farmed biodynamically, and the wine carries the region's trademark mineral spine alongside the grape's own character.
The wine opens with fresh pineapple and dried flower aromatics, moving into floral honey notes. On the palate it's silky and medium-bodied, with a chalky minerality that pulls the wine taut and keeps it lively. The finish is long and warm, leaving plenty of impression behind. This is a wine that drinks well now but has the structure to age if you're patient with it.
